Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: September 21, 2026 · Updated: November 4, 2026 (file-sharing and download services)
This policy is part of the Skiffly Terms of Service. It describes what you may not do on the platform. We enforce it to keep the service reliable and affordable for everyone; violations may lead to throttling, suspension of workloads or termination of your account, and in serious cases to reports to authorities.
Prohibited uses
You may not use Skiffly to:
- Mine cryptocurrency or run proof-of-work, proof-of-space or similar computations, including through browser-based miners or "distributed computing" clients.
- Send unsolicited email or messages (spam), run mail relays, or send mail in violation of CAN-SPAM, GDPR or similar laws. Outbound SMTP (ports 25, 465, 587) is blocked by default; use a transactional email API.
- Attack or probe any system: denial-of-service, port scanning, vulnerability scanning without authorization, brute-forcing credentials, credential stuffing, exploiting vulnerabilities.
- Operate open proxies, VPN exit nodes, Tor relays, traffic tunnels or any service whose purpose is to hide the origin of network traffic.
- Run file-sharing or download services: BitTorrent or other peer-to-peer clients, seedboxes, "leech" or "mirror" bots (for example Telegram or Discord bots that download torrents or links and re-upload the files), or file-locker and direct-download sites for third-party content.
- Host or distribute malware, phishing pages, command-and-control infrastructure, or content that imitates another organization to deceive users.
- Store or distribute illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, content that infringes intellectual property rights, or content that violates export controls or sanctions.
- Scrape or harass: run bots that violate other sites' terms, harvest personal data without a lawful basis, or stalk or harass individuals.
- Run high-frequency trading bots, automated ticket/limited-drop purchasing, or game cheats that violate the terms of the target platform.
- Circumvent limits: create multiple accounts to farm trial credit, evade suspensions, share accounts, or interfere with the isolation, metering or billing of the platform.
- Resell raw platform resources (for example offering "free hosting" to third parties) without a written agreement with us.
Payments and donations
A page that collects money — sales, donations, fundraising, prize draws, paid access — must say clearly who receives it: the legal name of the organisation or person, its registration number (for example the CNPJ in Brazil, RUT, EIN or equivalent) and a way to contact it. The payment account the page sends visitors to must belong to that same organisation or person. Selling access to cheats, "VIP panels", stolen or shared accounts, or anything that deceives the buyer or a third party is not allowed.
Resource fairness
Metered resources are billed, but the platform is shared. We may throttle or pause workloads that consume sustained CPU, memory, disk I/O or network far outside their plan limits, generate abusive traffic patterns, or cause operational problems, especially on unverified or free workspaces. Sustained 100% CPU utilization on free or unverified workspaces is treated as suspected mining until explained.
Security research
Testing the security of Skiffly itself is welcome if you follow responsible disclosure: only test accounts you own, no denial-of-service, no access to other customers' data, report findings to security@skiffly.dev and give us reasonable time to fix them.
Suspension and appeals
When content or a workload seems to break this policy, we pause it for a review instead of deleting it:
- Level 1 — warning. Minor issues (for example, missing contact details): an email with 72 hours to fix it; the site keeps working.
- Level 2 — a paused service. One service is paused; the rest of the workspace keeps working.
- Level 3 — a paused workspace. Every service is paused when the account exists for the violation.
- Level 4 — closure. After 30 days without an approved appeal, or immediately for clearly criminal content (child sexual abuse material, malware, command-and-control): the content and the account are deleted.
While paused, visitors see a notice page on every address of the service (including custom domains), deployments, restarts and new addresses are disabled, and nothing is deleted: you can still sign in, see your projects and export your data and volumes. Before the notice page goes up we save a copy of the page and recent request logs as evidence; it is kept while the case is open.
We email the owners and admins of the workspace what was paused, why, the deletion date and how to appeal. To appeal, use the "Appeal" button in the dashboard or reply to the email; we review appeals within 3 business days. For a page that collects money we ask for the receiving organisation and its registration number, proof that you represent it, who holds the payment account, the organisation's website or social profiles, your agreement to show these details on the page, and a top-up to verify the account. We may restore the service with conditions, keep it paused and ask for more, or close it.
Reporting abuse
To report abuse hosted on Skiffly (spam, phishing, illegal content, attacks originating from a *.skiffly.cloud host or from our IP ranges), email abuse@skiffly.dev with logs, timestamps (UTC) and the hostname or IP involved. We act on well-founded reports promptly.
